Lochranza Quizzical at Jayzander
It is with the greatest of sadness that we announce the passing of this wonderful dog. He died suddenly age 6 years old. The exact cause is unknown but he had peritonitis that caused huge problems within his abdomen. It was very quick 2 days previous he was playing in the snow (see photos below). Words cannot describe what impact this fella had on our lives and he leaves the biggest of holes in our hearts. Below is the original script on his web page and I will leave it on for all to read so you can get some idea of what this boy was like. Sleep tight Norbert we will always love you.

Norbert was the dog that started the showing bug for us. We purchased him as a loving pet from Jean & John Gillespie of the world famous Lochranza Kennels. Little did we know what impact this puppy would have on our lives. The showing world was unknown to us but someone suggested we should try showing him. After a few months of fact finding we took Norbert to his first show. I remember the day so well, my comment was " if I get 1 rosette this year I will be delighted." 66 rosettes later we exceeded our expectations. What a year this was ! The success had been achieved at both open and championship shows. He had also qualified for Crufts 2005 an event he truly loved and came away with a rosette. Norbert was known by many at the shows as he loved the attention and found the judges irresistible, frequently sneaking a lick or two onto their faces - he's a true cocker full of life and exuberance

Another success occurred at his obedience training by passing his kennel club good citizen puppy award, bronze level and silver level all before his first birthday.
Norbert became a daddy thrice over, siring 3 beautiful litters of blue roans and liver roans. Norbert has now retired from showing, and is enjoying life in front of the fire and in bed with his best friend, our youngest son , Mark. Mark saved up his pocket money and offered me £8.50 to buy him and to have him in his own name, an offer I couldn't refuse !!! Mark is now the official owner of Norbert. We will always be proud of his achievements and thank him for introducing us to the world of showing and this fabulous breed, we love him sooooo much, more than life itself xx |
