Sorry for the lack of updates on our website. A lot has happened over the past year especially the last 10 months. I myself had a shock in October when I was savagely attacked by a dog we were caring for. It wasn’t a pedigree dog but was a large dog and my left leg was severely damaged with 28 wounds and a broken ankle, 2 operations with more pending. 10 months later I am still having problems with the leg and it will never be the same. The reason for me highlighting this is to make people aware that dogs are and always will be a dog. We all humanise our beloved pets and treat all dogs the same as ours but there is always and underlying wildness to them. I was asked if one of my cockers had done this in the early days and my reply was that if a cocker attacked its jaw couldn’t inflict so much damage and I stand by that. However, any canine can inflict skin damage, rip, tear and damage nerves and tendons. Powerful dogs as demonstrated can break and damage bone. When choosing your dog, look at the dog in great detail, know its background. I think mongrels make great pets but try and look what breeds are behind the dog. Do your homework and read, read and read. |
